Much of our work is based on Project Drawdown, one of the most comprehensive plans ever proposed to reverse the disastrous heating of our planet. Project Drawdown has published a set of 93 currently available, financially viable climate solutions that, if implemented together, can reverse the flow of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere by 2050. In 2023 they released the Drawdown Roadmap, a science-based strategy for accelerating climate solutions.
Project Drawdown’s Discover web portal provides customizable access to resources that businesses, investors, educators, journalists, community members and more can use to inspire and guide their own climate solutions journeys. And check out the Climate Solutions 101 and Drawdown’s Neighborhood video series, which offer user-friendly overviews of the problem of climate change—and the many solutions that are ripe for the picking.
The Drawdown Event that kicked off Climate Week on Sept 20, 2021,“Together We Rise: The Power of Female Leadership to Help Solve the Climate Crisis” with Mary Robinson, was inspired by the book “All We Can Save” by Dr. Katherine Wilkinson. The event was sponsored by 350NYC, the NY Society for Ethical Culture, Drawdown NYC, Climate Reality NYC and the Pachamama Alliance. It was the fourth in a series of annual Drawdown-focused events at Ethical over the last six years.

Project Drawdown, led by environmentalist and author Paul Hawken, gathered a qualified and diverse group of researchers from around the world to identify, research, and model the 100 most substantive existing solutions to address climate change. This work resulted in identifying a path forward that can roll back global greenhouse gas emissions within thirty years. To get more information visit drawdown.org.
350nyc.org stands behind this road map and is excited to launch an empowering educational campaign giving everyday people the power to cut down their emissions! Whether it means switching your electricity to 100% renewables or eating more plant-based meals, there are steps we can all take and see the results in the form of reducing our emissions.
