Climate Justice and Public Pension Fund Investments

On Saturday, October 15th, DC37’s Climate Justice Committee in collaboration with 350NYC will present “Climate Justice and Pension Fund Investments: Divesting Public Pension Funds from Fossil Fuels”, a forum for union members, staff, and leaders.

The event is free and will be held from 9am til 1pm @ DC37, 125 Barclay Street, Room 1.

Speakers will include Senator Liz Krueger, Council Member Helen Rosenthal, Tom Sanzillo, Financial Director, IEEF and former NY State Deputy Comptroller, and John Adler, Director of the Mayor’s Office of Pensions & Investments and Chief Pension Investment Advisor. DC37 Climate Justice Committee Chair Jeremy Sanders will moderate. See below for full list of presentations.

If you are not in a union, but would still like to learn more about what’s being done to confront the carbon risk facing our public pension funds as well as other initiatives being taken in NYC to mitigate the impacts of the climate change, we would love to have you join us.
