“Investing in the Past: New York and the Coal Industry”

Sierra Club’s new President Aaron Mair will be joining activists from upstate who will speak about their experiences fighting coal plants in their communities. Aaron is a long-time advocate for environmental justice in low-income communities upstate, and is excited to connect with climate/justice activists in the city to begin a statewide conversation on what it will take to transition New York permanently off coal as a first step to getting off all fossils.
Starts at 7pm with some informal networking time, followed by a panel discussion and open-format Q&A discussion.
