Join us for a KXL Rally & Press Conference on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 @ 10:00 a.m.

Come to Foley Square (Worth St.) Manhattan, New York

“KEYSTONE XL IS GAME OVER FOR NEW YORK CITY”

Hear the Press Conference with Zephyr Teachout, Josh Fox and others.

Join us to call on Mayor de Blasio to stand in solidarity before the US Senate Vote. Hurricane Sandy survivors, labor, faith and climate leaders will hand-deliver a letter to the Mayor Tuesday, asking him to stand against the Keystone XL pipeline hours before the United States Senate vote on the fate of the embattled pipeline.  We don’t just call on the Mayor for symbolic action: we are asking him to use his considerable influence to advocate strenuously with Democrats in Congress to Vote NO on KXL!

“Keystone XL would flip a switch to drain the dirtiest fuel on earth: Canadian tar sands. Scientists say this would be “Game Over” for the climate. A city already so vulnerable to rising tides and swelling storm surge, New York cannot afford any more climate disruption. Game over for climate means game over for New York City’s coastal communities,” the letter says. Mark Ruffalo and Zephyr Teachout, are among the signatories.

#NoKXL Press Conference and Rally will follow the presentation of the letter.  Speakers to include: Zephyr Teachout, Former Candidate for Governor; Michael Premo, Occupy Sandy;  Myrtle E. Williams, 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers;  East Alexis Smallwood, Rockaway Wildfire;  Josh Fox, Gasland, Solutions Grassroots Tour.

Musical guest confirmed: Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul & Mary)
