On Saturday, Jan 4th, 2014, community members gathered in front of Congressman Rangel’s 125th St office in Harlem to rally against “Fast Tracking” trade legislation known as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) that could have significant negative consequences for the environment, renewable energy, intellectual freedoms and society in general.

NY Congressman Rangel serves on a committee in Congress that has oversight of trade agreements. A “Fast Track” vote would prevent members of Congress from debating the trade agreement before voting on it. The best way to defeat the TPP is to defeat Fast Track.

Since TPP is not up for a vote, your call will not be counted if you ask for a no vote on TPP. You must ask him to “Vote No on Fast Track”. If they say you are not a constituent, please insist that your call be officially recorded as this issue impacts everyone in the nation.

Congressman Rangel can be reached at:

(202) 225-4365 (DC office)
