Please join us for our next Monthly Meeting
Wednesday April 29th @ 7 – 9pm

We are honored to welcome Dr. Debra Tillinger as the guest speaker at the next 350NYC general meeting. As a climate scientist and educator Dr. Tillinger confronts many of the same questions that activists encounter as we try to raise public awareness about climate change. At this meeting she will discuss some of the essential science that we strive to convey and will focus on how to talk about climate change. Professor Tillinger will share some tactics and approaches you can take on the subject, how to measure up your audience, whether it’s just one person or a group, and how to tailor your messaging for the greatest impact and effectiveness.

Debra Tillinger holds a PhD in ocean and climate physics from Columbia University. She works at the American Museum of Natural History as an educator on climate change and at Marymount Manhattan College as an adjunct professor of physics. Her recent research is based at NASA/GISS and focuses on the effects of declining sea ice on global climate. In addition to formal science education, Dr. Tillinger also presents scientific information through the arts in character as “Dr. Mermaid”.
